Harold W. Fiets, 62, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (July 19, 1998) at his home, from a sudden illness.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with services at 7 p.m. by the Masonic Lodge, at Clancy- Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made for the grandchildren's education.
He was born July 13, 1936 in Onarga, the son of Carl and Margaret Delbridge Fiets.
Surviving are his wife, the former Geraldine ''Gerri'' Cravens, whom he married Jan. 20, 1962 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gilman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Kelley Fiets and Ron and Shari Fiets, all of Bourbonnais; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosemarie and Bill Penicook of Wellington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Shirley Fiets of Fisher and Larry and Nancy Jacobsen of Kankakee; and three grandchildren, Stuart, Paityn and Morgan Fiets.
His parents are deceased.
Mr. Fiets had worked for H&S Distributing and Kankakee Concrete.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Kankakee.
HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Christine M. Selph, 50, of Homestead, Fla., and a former 10-year resident of Vernon Hills, died Saturday (July 18, 1998) in Miami, Fla.
Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, and continue at St. Mary of Vernon Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
She was born July 14, 1948 in Leon, Mexico, and was a 1971 graduate of Northern Illinois University.
She was a member of St. Mary of Vernon Parish in Indiana Creek and was an executive secretary for the Baxter Health Care Corp. in Deerfield.
Surviving are her husband, David, and daughter, Jennifer of Homestead, Fla.; her father, Chester Poplonski of Lake Zurich; four brothers, Chester Poplonski Jr. of Bolingbrook, Stanley and Bronia Poplonski of Bloomingdale, Mark and Brenda Bugalski of Boca Raton, Fla., and Richard and Patricia Bugalski of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews; her parents-in-law, Stanley and Marjorie Selph of Thomaston, Ga.; a brother- and sister-in-law, Spencer and Donna Selph of McDonough, Ga.; sister-and brother-in-law, Roxie and James Maudlin of Thomaston, Ga.; and many friends, including those at the Quail Hollow Gang in Bradley.
Her mother, Wanda Poplonski died July 17, 1996.
GOODWINE - Zazelle Meredith, 89, of Goodwine, died Sunday (July 19, 1998) at Clay County Health Care in Brazil, Ind.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Baier Funeral Home, Watseka, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert Einhouse will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Milford.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
She was born July 5, 1909 in Watseka, the daughter of Charles and Ethel Eagle Meredith.
A school teacher, she taught first and second grades in Claytonville and Watseka schools.
She lived on the farm near Goodwine most of her life.
She was a member of United Methodist Church of Milford, the DAR, and was Worthy Matron of Eastern Star for 60 years.
Surviving are one sister, Naomi Plepcher of Sheldon Nursing Home.
Two brothers are deceased.
Victor L. ''Vic'' Wieliczko, 50, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (July 19, 1998) at Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center of a sudden illness.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. John Peeters at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maternity BVM Church in Bourbonnais, where he was a member.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made for family wishes.
He was born Jan. 22, 1948 in Kankakee, the son of Casimer and Ruth Jefferson Wieliczko.
Surviving are his wife, the former Darlene MacDonald, whom he married March 25, 1994 in Kankakee; four daughters, Jennifer Wieliczko of Bloomington, Jill, Lisa and Emma Wieliczko of Bourbonnais; one son, Douglas Wieliczko of Wheeling; two stepsons, Ian and Ivan Dunki of Bourbonnais.
Mr. Wieliczko was an engineer for GNB Technologies Inc., Kankakee.
He was a member of the Bishop Mac Irish Alumni Association, where he was a past president, and the Knights of Columbus.
He had coached soccer, also enjoying golf and basketball.
DECATUR - Fred Robert Krause, 64, of Decatur, formerly of Bradley, died Saturday (July 18, ((8) at his residence.
Arrangements are scheduled for a memorial service Friday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Decatur.
The Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Decatur, is in charge of arrangements.
Services for Betty Sale, 83, of Kankakee, will be at a later date in Mid- August.
Mrs. Sale died Saturday (July 18, 1998), following a long illness.
Her husband, Edwin Sale, attorney-at-law, died in December 1996.
